Charity auction for a painting by José Oliveira to support Dress a Girl Around the World - Portugal.

José Oliveira, artist of Murtosa, having knowledge of “Dress a Girl Around the world-Portugal”, was not indifferent and generously decided to collaborate by offering one of his works for auction to revert to the project.

The work in question is an oil on canvas with 45x55cm frame, representing the first bow of moliceiro boat that he painted.

Brief biography: José Oliveira, the plastic artist who in addition to indulging in art in the most diverse aspects, from canvas, to tile, to sculpture, mural art, restoration, heraldry, among many others, remain the paint the panels of moliceiro boats, since 1989. Now celebrates 30 years in this activity dedicated to the traditional art of the lagoon region of Aveiro, contributing to its preservation.

The proceeds from this charity auction will be used to help Dress a Girl Portugal to distribute their dresses and shorts, enabling trips to socially vulnerable countries and the purchase of fabrics and sewing materials, which are essential for the Association's operation.

DAG Portugal is a non-profit association that has the voluntary support of sewing workshops, day centers, senior universities and independent groups, scattered throughout Portugal. Together they promote intergenerational sewing meetings and make shorts and dresses to offer children from socially vulnerable countries, giving them dignity, hope and protection.
