Any bid made in the last 2 minutes of the auction will automatically reset the auction timer to 2 minutes remaining.
Rock in Rio Lisboa and António Pinto Carvalho, one of the greatest luthiers in Europe, have joined forces to transform wood remains - found in the burning areas of the fires of 2017- in guitars.
All the money raised in the auctions of these guitars will go to the restoration of the Portuguese national forest, in partnership with Liga para a Proteção da Natureza. Without forests, there is no music, as they supply most of the raw material to build instruments – as well as a lot of inspiration.
Every year, forests burn in Portugal. In 2003 alone, 425.839 hectares were burned; in 2005, 339.089 hectares, but the worst scenario happened in 2017, when more than 500.000 hectares burned, particularly on October 15, which is now known as the worst day of the year. On that day alone, more forest was burned than the annual average: 100.000 hectares. Life suffered a harsh blow. Now the music is back to being the forest! Take part and bid!
LPN will manage all the funds, through an integrated project that will focus not only on reforestation but also in creating conditions to recover animal species - we want to recover the ecosystem!
