Charity auction of a chair entitled "Rio Tejo" supports the Associação Apoio à Vida.
This colorful chair, over the river that bathes Lisbon, was painted in October 2014 at the Darte Sessions that were held with the Mothers hosted in the House of St. Elizabeth. It is part of a group of 8 chairs about the city of Lisbon, which allowed the artists to know and explore this city where they came to live, new to many of them.
Since 2013, Apoio à Vida has been offering weekly art sessions as a therapy to the mothers who live in this host family. The purpose of these sessions is to develop participants' self-esteem and self-confidence as well as their emotional and social skills. The Darte Project thus contributes to the empowerment of these Mothers to restructure their lives after this moment of crisis.
Proceeds reverts to future Darte sessions with the Mothers hosted in the House of St. Elizabeth.
